New and exploratory work will be highlighted. The show runs through January 22, 2015 and will be on display in three venues: the O’Hanlon Gallery and the Loft Gallery, both on the O’Hanlon Center site; as well as the Mill Valley City Hall. The Show’s Theme: “Sight and Insight” is the original name given to the center by its late co-founder Anne O’Hanlon who discovered new ways to teach her students to see and approach art with a playful beginners mind: “Our approach to learning involves hands-on practice with art materials to establish an interplay between the receptive and the creative – seeing, and doing, and then seeing again the receptive contemplation of what one has done.” —Ann O’Hanlon
In conduction with the First Tuesday opening on January 6, the Center will host a Roundtable for the Arts dialogue from 5 to 6 p.m., where the participating artists will discuss issues relating to their creative processes with each other and the community. The Roundtable, a monthly event sponsored by the Center, is facilitated by O’Hanlon Center member, Dick Cruwys Brown.
