Police Seek Source Of Bomb Threat At Mill Valley Middle School

Police are searching for the source of a bomb threat sent by phone to Mill Valley Middle School.

MILL VALLEY, CA – Police are searching for the source of a bomb threat sent by phone to Mill Valley Middle School.

The caller left a voicemail around 9 a.m. Tuesday saying a bomb had been placed on school grounds at 425 Sycamore Ave., according to Mill Valley police. School officials locked down the school and students and staff were evacuated to Mill Valley Community Center at 180 Camino Alto where parents picked up their children.

The district and Kiddo! offices were also evacuated, according to the Mill Valley School District. Elementary schools remained in session.

Authorities also asked residents within a half-mile of the school to shelter in place.

Police officers, Marin County sheriff's deputies and K-9 units trained in explosive detection searched the school. An explosive was not found and an "all clear" was announced around 1 p.m.

The Sausalito, Tiburon and San Francisco police departments, Central Marin Police Authority and California Highway Patrol also responded to the school, police said.
