Driver Accused Of Road Rage Arrested In Petaluma: CHP

The incident Wednesday morning started at SR-121 near Napa Road and continued into Petaluma, according to the California Highway Patrol.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A Fairfield man is accused of brandishing a handgun in a road-rage incident Wednesday morning in Sonoma County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Spokesman Juan Leon said the Santa Rosa Area CHP Office was advised at 7:04 a.m. Wednesday of a 911 call about the road-rage incident. The caller reported he was in a right-of-way dispute with another driver in the area of state Highway 121 east of Napa Road.

"As the victim continued west into the Petaluma area, the suspect continued following the victim and brandished a handgun as the suspect continued driving aggressively," Leon said.

CHP officers soon arrived arrested Jason Jackson, 33, out of Fairfield, Leon said.

"Officers located a semi-automatic pistol and determined that Jackson was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs," Leon said.

Jackson was booked at Sonoma County jail on suspicion of brandishing and carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, according to the CHP.

Jail records showed Jackson was still in custody Wednesday afternoon.
