Should Carpool Hours On The Golden Gate From Marin Be Extended?
Transportation officials are discussing the matter.

Transportation officials are considering extending carpool hours on U.S. Highway 101 in Marin County and on the Golden Gate Bridge in order to relieve traffic congestion.
Transportation officials were set to discuss the matter Thursday at the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District's transportation committee meeting at the district's administration office at the bridge toll plaza.
Andrew Fremier, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's deputy executive director of operations, was to discuss whether extending the high-occupancy vehicle lane hours will relieve traffic or clog the highway further, and the effect it could have on public transit.

Operating hours for the HOV lanes on the highway in Marin County are the same as they were in 1976, 6:30-8:30 a.m. in the southbound direction and 4:30-7 p.m. northbound, bridge district spokeswoman Priya Clemens said.
The Golden Gate Bridge's lane No. 2 HOV hours at the toll plaza are 5-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m., Clemens said.
