2 Arrested In Fremont After Ramming Police Vehicle
Two men were arrested after allegedly ramming a police vehicle in a stolen van early Monday morning in Fremont, according to police.
FREMONT - Two men were arrested after allegedly ramming a police vehicle in a stolen van early Monday morning in Fremont, according to police.
Officers on patrol attempted a traffic stop at 12:33 a.m. Monday in the vicinity of Roberts Avenue and Howe Court, but the driver made a u-turn and struck the door of an patrol vehicle.
There were no officers inside the vehicle at the time of the collision.

The driver fled, and officers chased him for more than eight miles.
The van eventually stopped in Niles Canyon roughly one half-mile east of Mission Boulevard after the front driver's side tire fell off.

The driver fled on foot. Another man hid under a mattress in the back of the van.
Both of them were arrested, according to police.
Alec Bevington, a 23-year-old man from Fremont, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, stealing a vehicle and evading an officer with disregard for safety.
David Teller, a 42-year-old man from Fremont, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and stealing a vehicle.
No one else was injured.
The Fremont Police Department thanked officers from the California Highway Patrol and Hayward Police Department for their assistance.
