2 Arrested In Milpitas On Auto Theft Charges
Two men were arrested early Saturday morning after an officer witnessed them sitting in a stolen vehicle at a hotel in Milpitas.

MILPITAS - Two men were arrested early Saturday morning after an officer witnessed them sitting in a stolen vehicle at a hotel in Milpitas, according to police.
Police said an officer was conducting patrol checks at 4:27 a.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel located at 901 E. Calaveras Blvd. when he noticed two suspicious men sitting in a black Ford Crown Victoria.
The officer checked the license plates and found that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of San Jose.

Police said the officers conducted a high-risk stop and were able to take both suspects, Samuel Hernandez, 23 and Marco Castro, 23, into custody.
Further investigation of the vehicle revealed burglary tools and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Police said the two suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of auto theft, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of burglary tools.
In addition to the other offenses, Hernandez was also booked on suspicion of auto theft with prior convictions.
