Calaveras Road Finally Reopens
It took more than 6 months to stabilize the roadway following torrential winter storms.

MILPITAS, CA — More than 6 months after relentless winter storms forced the closure of Calaveras Road, it is finally open.
Soil movement beneath the roadway forced the placement of the road blocks back in February. Since then, all traffic to Ed Levin Park, Spring Valley Golf Course and homes in the hills have used Downing Road, which is narrow, winding and not prepared for the volume of traffic.
However, the city says that additional work to complete repairs will continue through the end of September. Drivers should expect minor traffic delays as the work is completed.
