Emergency crews quickly put out the fire and rescued the goats.

MILPITAS, CA — Fire crews quickly controlled a brush fire in Milpitas Thursday afternoon, stopping its progress at less than 10 acres. Unfortunately, six goats that live on the fenced property suffered burns in the fire and had to be transported for treatment.

The latest word is that all goats are expected to survive.

The blaze was reported on Zamora Court in Milpitas at 11:11 a.m., according to the Pulsepoint phone application. The fire was reported immediately after a transformer exploded, causing a power outage.
