Sophomore Haley Garvey was named Most Valuable Offensive Player. Garvey scored eight goals this season.

Madie Gray won the Most Valuable Junior award and Belen Acosta nabbed the Most Valauble Freshman honors.

Acosta was a force during her first season at the high school level. She finished the year with nine goals and 13 assists.

Several players earned 1st Team All-league honors including Kayla Owens, Kelly Forsyth, Emily Antoku, Natalie Minor and Jessica Jimenez.

Owens, one of several key seniors that were vital members to this years squad, was elated by the postseason recognition.

“It feels great,” Owens said. “I also got 1st team as a sophomore, but I was hurt a lot of last year so it was great to be recognized again for my senior year. Having fun teammates that got MVP awards is also amazing.”

The Trojans missed out on the playoffs by an eyelash. They became the first team in El Camino league history to win nine league games and miss the Central Coast Section playoffs.

“I’m just proud to be part of this team.  It was so diverse and so many different people contributed to our success,” Owens said. “Getting 10 all league selections shows what a special team it was.  It was heartbreaking to learn that we missed making CCS playoffs based on the point system.  I guess it’s the first time in recent history that an El Camino division team has won 9 games in league and not made the playoffs.”
