Heads Up, Milpitas: Police Crackdown Coming

Multiple law enforcement agencies will be covering the city on Wednesday to improve safety in high complaint and accident areas.

MILPITAS, CA - In an effort to reduce pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle collisions, the Milpitas Police Department is partnering with law enforcement agencies throughout Santa Clara County to conduct high visibility, directed traffic enforcement operations in the City of Milpitas on Wednesday, March 23 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Officers from Milpitas PD, Santa Clara County Sheriff, Mountain View PD, Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, Los Altos PD, Campbell PD, and Santa Clara PD will be deployed within Milpitas, cracking down on vehicle code violators.

Enforcement will be conducted in school zones, high complaint areas, and high accident rate areas. Some of the violations that officers will be focused on are pedestrian right-of-way, jaywalking, 3-foot buffer for bicyclists, red light/stop sign violations, distracted driving, and any other dangerous violations.
