Loaded .45 Found Under Seat During Traffic Stop: Police

Milpitas Police Arrested two people following a traffic stop.

MILPITAS, CA —A traffic stop in Milpitas on Wednesday led to the arrest of a San Jose man in connection with being a felon in possession of a loaded gun and other offenses.

Jorge Adrian Barra-Molina, 37, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a gun, being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a concealed and loaded gun in a vehicle and on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, according to the Milpitas Police Department.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Jane Elizabeth Patel, 24, of Morgan Hill, was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, police said.

On Wednesday at 9:25 p.m., a Milpitas police officer stopped a silver Ford Explorer on North McCarthy Boulevard near Ranch Drive.

Police said the vehicle did not have license plates.

Following the stop, officers searched the vehicle and found a loaded .45 caliber handgun under the driver's seat, police said.
