Local Runners Finish Prestigious Boston Marathon

Nearly 24,000 marathoners finished the storied Boston Marathon on Monday, including two Milpitas residents:

• , 27, finished the marathon in three hours, 46 minutes and 13 seconds, or 3:46:13. 

• Meghan L. Smith, 28, finished the marathon at 3:50:45.

The world's oldest marathon, Boston is a prestigious event that runners spend months or even years training for, just to meet the qualifying standards for the grueling 26.2-mile journey. 

Nine Fremont residents also ran the marathon:
