Mall Store Sued Over Hidden Camera

A former manager at The Finish Line is accused of using hidden cameras to tape a restroom and a dressing room inside the store.

An athletic footwear store at the  was hit with a federal lawsuit on Monday over the actions of a former manager.

According to KTVU, five current or former employees, all female, accuse their former manager, David Meyer, 29, of secretly using two cameras, in a women's restroom and a dressing room, to videotape them.

A videotape apparently shows Meyer adjusting a video camera in his work T-shirt. It is believed the incident happened a year and a half ago when the female employees were 16-to-19-years-old.

The employees are suing both Meyer and the chain for "negligence and violations of various state privacy and labor laws. The women also seek to prevent Meyer from distributing the footage," according to Court House News Service.

, a national footwear chain with additional stores at the Oakridge and Eastridge malls in which Meyer also managed, issued a statement.

"The allegations in this lawsuit describe a situation isolated to an ex-employee ... whose alleged actions were neither known to nor condoned in any way by the company," according to the .

The plaintiffs are represented by a San Francisco law firm. The parties were unable "to reach a resolution in pre-litigation mediation," according to the Court House News Service.

Meyer is believed to have left the state when the video recordings were discovered for Indiana.
