Milpitas Knights Advance to Championships

Three of the Milpitas Knights PAL Youth Football teams won their semi-finals games this past weekend, and will now move on to the league championships.

Three teams from the Milpitas Knights PAL Football league are on top of the world today after winning the semi-finals over the weekend at San Jose's PAL Stadium.

Now, they couldn't be more excited to play in the championships this Saturday.

On Saturday, the Peewee team's match against Evergreen went into overtime, where the Knights pulled out a victory, 7-6. The Jr. Midgits defeated Hayward 26-19, and the Midgits dominated the field against Berryessa, beating them 12-0.

Though the Jr. Peewees did not win their game against Berryessa, they had a great season, making it all the way to the semi-finals, which is no easy feat.

Now, three teams look forward to the championships this Saturday at San Jose PAL Stadium, 680 S. 34th St. The Peewee team will take on East Hills at 11 a.m., the Jr. Midgits will play against Union City at 1 p.m., and the Midgits will face Scotts Valley at 3 p.m.

"We've had a great season. We've had four teams go all the way to the semi-finals, and now we have three teams in the championships," said Bobby Carswell, president of the Milpitas Knights. "So we're doing really well, and if all goes well, we'll be bringing some trophies back to Milpitas this Saturday."

PAL is the Police Activities League, a program offering healthy, safe activities to the youth of our community as an alternative to street crime, drugs and violence.
