The pair was questioned by officers and arrested on suspicion of burglary, police said.

The two suspects said a third alleged burglar was inside the home, which prompted officers to call a K9 unit to the scene, according to police.

Officers went back in the home where they ordered anyone inside to come out, but didn't immediately receive a response, police said.

The search continued to the attic where the K-9 unit found Ponce hidden in a corner, according to police.

The 39-year-old man allegedly resisted arrest, kicked the police dog "Bosco" in the head three times and attempted to flee, police said.

The police dog was able to clamp on Ponce's ankle and left the suspect with minor injuries, according to police.

The three suspected burglars were placed into Santa Clara County Jail, police said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police Detective Fernando Del Moral at (669) 253-4964 or Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867.
