Milpitas Police Arrest Auto Theft Suspect

The vehicle had been reported stolen a few days earlier in San Jose.

MILPITAS, CA — Milpitas Police arrested an auto theft suspect early Tuesday.

An officer conducting patrol checks in the Walmart parking spotted a tan GMC Yukon parked in the lot that had been reported stolen from San Jose on September 10.

Officers took the occupant of the stolen SUV, Cole Nicholes, into custody without incident. Officers searched the vehicle and recovered mail possibly stolen from San Jose.

Nicholes also had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest for auto theft from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office and was on probation from Sonoma County.

He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, misappropriation of property, providing false identification information, driving on suspended license, violation of his probation and the felony warrant.
