Milpitas Police Arrest Auto Theft Suspect
Police recovered a stolen SUV, burglary tools,stolen credit cards and IDs, and more.

MILPITAS, CA — An auto theft and burglary suspect was arrested at a hotel in Milpitas last Friday, according to Milpitas Police Sgt. Matthew Miller. Police seized "over three (3) grams of methamphetamine, suspected burglary tools, and suspected stolen property consisting of credit cards & identification cards" from a stolen SUV.
It started at 3:16 p.m. when a police officer located spotted an unoccupied 2012 Honda Pilot SUV with temporary paper license plates parked in a parking lot. A check of the vehicle identification number (VIN) revealed that the SUV had been reported stolen from San Jose on Oct. 30.
Officers watch the SUV until someone returned. Police stopped Adrian Rios as he started to drive away. He was taken into custody without incident.

Rios was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for auto theft, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, and driving with a suspended driver’s license.
