Milpitas Police Seize Loaded Shotgun, Arrest Alledged Prower
A juvenile was also taken into custody. Both suspects are Milpitas residents.

MILPITAS, CA — Milpitas Police took two suspects into custody accused of prowling in a backyard armed with a shotgun. The suspects are John Fender, 18, and a 17-year-old male whose name was not released because he's a juvenile.
The prowling happened on Eagle Ridge Way on Jan. 18. According to a written statement from Milpitas Police Lt. Raj Maharaj, when police officers arrived at the scene, "Officers searched the backyard and the surrounding areas, but the prowlers had fled from the area. Residential surveillance camera footage showed one of the prowlers was carrying a shotgun."
Police continued to investigate the case and received several tips about the possible identity of one of the suspects.

Just before 4:30 Tuesday afternoon Milpitas Police detectives located one of the suspects driving a sliver 2000 BMW 528i in the southern part of Milpitas. Fender and the juvenile were both taken into custody.
A loaded shotgun was found inside the car.

Fender was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for being in possession of a loaded firearm, prowling, and driving without a license.
The juvenile was cited for prowling and released to one of his parents.
