
SANTA CLARA, CA — A motorcyclist died in a collision with a SUV in Santa Clara early this morning, according to police.
At 2:52 a.m., officers were responding to an alarm on Edward Avenue when they came upon a crash that had just occurred in the 3300 block of the street, police said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the SUV driver was uninjured and cooperated with investigators.

The name of the motorcyclist, a 40-year-old Santa Clara man, was not immediately available from the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Police are investigating whether speed or some other factor contributed to the crash, police said.
