New Stop Signs Installed At Calaveras Road Detour
The four-way stop signs will make turning onto, and especially getting off the detour, safer.

MILPITAS, CA — If you've driven up Old Calaveras Road because of the closure of Calaveras, you know that road wasn't built for 2017 and the access can be a bit tricky.
The City of Milpitas has stepped-in with a four-way stop sign, installed this week. It's located at the intersection of Evans Road at Old Calaveras Road and Kennedy Drive.
The City reports, "Steps have been taken to make this change visible to motorists and include a stop sign ahead warning sign with a flashing yellow beacon, pavement marking indicating “STOP AHEAD”, over-sized stop signs, and a flashing red beacon for each stop sign. In addition to the added stop signs at the intersection and warning devices on the intersection approaches, temporary flashing message boards are in place on the northbound and southbound approach indicating “TRAFFIC CHANGE AHEAD” and Milpitas Police has increased presence at the intersection to observe motorists and ticket traffic offenses."
