Police Stop Speeding Car In Milpitas, Discover It Was Reported Stolen

Two were arrested.

Police responding to reports of a speeding vehicle Sunday morning in Milpitas found that the vehicle had been reported stolen the previous day.

Officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Dempsey Road and Yosemite Drive at 7:33 a.m. Sunday. After stopping the driver, it was determined that the license plate belonged to another vehicle, according to police.

The vehicle in question turned out to have been reported stolen out of San Jose on Saturday, and both of the stolen vehicle’s occupants appeared to be under the influence, according to police.

Nicole Martinez, 29, and Ezekiel Zamora, 19, were arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and being under the influence of a controlled substance, according to police. Martinez and Zamora are both residents of San Jose, police said.
