San Jose Man with Warrants Arrested in Milpitas After Fleeing Traffic Stop
Uriel Contreras was arrested on suspicion of evading or resisting arrest, as well as felony warrants for narcotics.

A San Jose man with outstanding warrants was arrested early Friday afternoon after fleeing from Milpitas police, barricading himself inside a friend’s residence and ultimately surrendering, according to police.
Officers attempted to stop a Honda Civic for a minor traffic violation around 12:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of East Calaveras Boulevard.
The driver fled in a reckless manner to the 1500 block of East Calaveras Boulevard, then barricaded himself in a friend’s home nearby. Police said he ultimately surrendered to negotiators.

Uriel Contreras, 32, was arrested on suspicion of evading or resisting arrest, as well as felony warrants for narcotics and smuggling contraband into a jail, according to police.
