Santa Clara Jailbreak! Two of Four Inmates Caught, Two on the Run

They cut through window bars to make their escape.

It was just after 11:00 Wednesday night and deputies at the Santa Clara Correctional facility became aware of an escape in progress at the Main Jail South section. Four inmates had cut through window bars to escape.

They were on the second floor of the jail's oldest section.

Deputies immediately caught two of them.

A perimeter was set up and deputies were assisted by the San Jose Police Department, and Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

The Sheriff’s Office is using its helicopter and numerous K9s from all participating agencies to assist in tracking the escapees.

Rogelio Chavez was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on August 17, 2016. He was held on various charges including Burglary, Extortion, False Imprisonment, Resisting Arrest, and Firearms violations. Chavez is a Hispanic male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 190 pounds, with a distinctive facial tattoo above and below his left eye.

Lanon Campbell was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on February 12, 2015. Campbell was held on various charges including Robbery, False Imprisonment, Criminal Threats and Firearms violations. Lanon Campbell is an African American male, 6 feet 4 inches tall and 220 pounds.
