SOFTBALL: Trojans Defeat Woodside Wildcats
The Milpitas Trojans softball team defeated the Woodside Wildcats 8-7 in Monday's non-conference game.
The Trojans defeated the Wildcats by a score of 8-7 at Milpitas High on Monday afternoon. Milpitas rallied from a 7-4 hole in the early innings to nip the visitors by one run. The comeback victory secured the first win of the young season for the Trojans, who improved to 1-2 overall in non-league play. Two runs in the bottom of the sixth, the final inning of play, gave Milpitas the walk-off victory. Tiana Teixeira setup the final score with a heady steal of second base. Teixeira, Crystal Antonelli, Kianni Ezell, Rachel Norman and Alexis Pommier each recorded RBIs in the win. The Trojans are back in action today against Harbor High in Santa Cruz. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
