Three Dead In Two Separate San Jose Shootings Wednesday

Breaking: One of the shootings involved a police officer who has since been put on administrative leave.

SAN JOSE, CA — Three people died in shootings Wednesday night in San Jose, one of which involved a police officer, police said. At 9:01 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Laura Ville Lane on a report of a person shot. According to police, when officers arrived at the residence they located two deceased victims.

Then an officer-involved shooting occurred and an adult male suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said. No other injuries were reported and there are no other outstanding suspects. The officer involved in the shooting will be placed on routine paid administrative leave, police said.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office and the San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a joint criminal investigation. The case is being monitored by the San Jose Police Department's
Internal Affairs Unit, the City Attorney's Office, and the Office of the Independent Auditor, police said.
