The naked suspect survived the officer-involved-shooting, according to San Jose Police.

SAN JOSE, CA — A man is in critical condition at a hospital after being shot at by police in West San Jose this afternoon.

The incident started around 1:30 p.m. when police responded to a call reporting a naked man acting erratically in the street at Valerie Drive and Eva Court, near San Tomas Park, San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.

After police arrived and tried to make contact with the man, he fled in a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck, running into a police car and starting a high-speed pursuit in the process.

At least two officers then fired about a dozen shots at the man, according to United Towing employee James Shaw, who said he witnessed the shooting from across the street.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office and the San Jose police homicide unit are investigating the shooting, Garcia said.

Stevens Creek Boulevard was shut down for the investigation. No officers were injured during the incident.
