City Seeks Input On Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

Mission Viejo residents were urged to provide input as the city works on updating its Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — The City of Mission Viejo is currently in the process of updating its Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, and residents were urged to provide input through March 6.

The purpose of the plan is to help create a safer city for residents, businesses and visitors. The plan allows public safety officials and city staff, elected officials and members of the public to understand the threats from natural and human-caused hazards in Mission Viejo.

The plan will also recommend specific actions to proactively decrease these threats before disasters occur.

The city released the draft plan of the LHMP for public review and is accepting public comments through March 6.

Residents interested in participating in the conversation can also fill out a public comment form online.

Hard copies of the plan are available for onsite review at City Hall, 200 Civic Center, and the Norman P. Murray Community Center at 24932 Veterans Way.
