Firefighters Airlift Man From Ladera Ranch Wilderness

LADERA RANCH, CA —Firefighters airlifted a hiker in distress from a South Orange County trail Monday morning, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

Medics arrived to aid the man his 50s on Water Works trail near Ladera Ranch around 7:15 a.m., Capt. Greg Barta of OCFA tells Patch, adding, "he was in cardiac arrest upon their arrival."

OCFA Medics began treatment on the scene and airlifted him to a nearby hospital.

The patient was last known to be in critical condition, Barta says.
