Recognize this 'Bad Grandpa' Serial Bank Robber?

The man who robbed a Mission Viejo bank Monday is suspected of robbing banks all over Southern California over the last months.

Investigators with the FBI believe the man who robbed a Chase Bank branch on Alicia Parkway Monday may be the “Bad Grandpa” bandit suspected in a series of bank robberies throughout Southern California.

The Bad Grandpa Bandit is a serial robber believed to be responsible for bank robberies in in Orange, Riverside and San Diego counties over the last few weeks, said FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller.

Citing the ongoing investigation, Eimiller declined to give further details of the other robberies tied to Band Grampa.

During the previous robberies, he wore a disguise including a wig, glasses, hat, and a cane, according to Eimiller. He has been seen fleeing several of the robberies in a black SUV. The FBI describes the Bad Grandpa as approximately 50 years of age, 5’10” in height and between 150-180 lbs.

Monday’s robbery in Mission Viejo occurred at 23992 Alicia Parkway shortly before noon. The robber handed the teller a note and fled with the cash in an unknown direction.
