MISSION VIEJO, CA — An abandoned dog just got a new lease on life after he found his forever home with an NFL player and his fiancé, the City of Mission Viejo said in a statement.
Robinson, a young German Shepard mix, originally made headlines when he was captured by Mission Viejo Animal Services Animal Control while wearing a muzzle. According to reports, Robinson had been seen wandering the streets of Rancho Santa Margarita for at least three days before he was safely captured.
On Thursday, the city announced that Robinson went home with Hunter Kampmoyer, a tight end for the Los Angeles Chargers, and his fiancé.

"When Robinson was loose on the streets of Rancho Santa Margarita, one of the callers who reported him as a stray to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center was Kampmoyer's future father-in-law," a city statement said.
According to the statement, Robinson will serve as the ring bearer for the couple's upcoming nuptials.
