Suspected DUI Single Car Crash In Mission Viejo
A driver crashed his car at 3 a.m. then attempted, unsuccessfully, to flee the scene.

MISSION VIEJO, CA —A driver collided with a sign in the area of Marguerite Parkway and Trabuco Road early Friday morning, police said.
Deputies responded at approximately 3 a.m. to find the 20-year-old driver still inside the vehicle.
"The driver attempted to speed away, but his vehicle did not have any traction in the landscape," a spokesperson for the department said. As officers commanded the driver to "turn off his engine and exit," he refused to do so.

Instead, deputies shattered the passenger window of the vehicle, then turned it off.
Mission Viejo Police Services officers arrested the unidentified driver for DUI.

"Luckily no one was injured," they said. "Please do not drink and drive."
