Hermanas Amigas Tequila&nbsp;As an African American woman from the South Side of Chicago, Southern California welcomed me and became my safe space. After losing my brother, my husband, and my mother, this is where I began to heal. I left behind four incredible best friends who loved me through my grief. We would often gather for tequila nights, but I noticed something missing. In the spirits industry, I rarely saw people or women who looked like me. None of the brands reflected our stories as women of color. So, I made one. Hermanas Amigas Tequila, which means “Sister Friends,” is a love letter in a bottle. It honors the four women who held me accountable, cared for me after unimaginable loss, and encouraged me to begin again in Southern California. Today, Hermanas Amigas Tequila is proudly sold at Pavilions in Montecito on Coast Village Road. Pick up a bottle, or even better, come meet me on July 4th. After losing my brother, my husband, and my mother, I found myself in one of the darkest seasons of my life. But my four best friends stepped in and helped carry me through. Every Friday night, we’d gather for tequila, laughter, and healing.As we looked around, we realized something was missing. None of the tequilas on the shelf represented women like us—women of color. None looked like us. None told our story.So I decided to create one. Amigas Tequila is my love letter in a bottle—to friendship, sisterhood, resilience, and the women who helped put my heart back together.Please come out and join me this Saturday, July 4th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Pavilions on Coast Village Road in Montecito. Come meet me, hear the story, and taste my love letter in a bottle.
