House Solicitors Raise Suspicions
Two people were cited for soliciting without a permit on Friday, and police warn that similar incidents have lead to home burglaries.

On June 3, police reported a male and female going door-to-door carrying an ADT sign and looking into windows on Pine Lawn Dr. They were cited for soliciting without a permit.
Montrose Patch received a news tip about this incident, alleging that the people were scoping out potential homes for future burglaries.
No stolen property was found on the two solicitors, and there was no evidence of burglaries, according to deputies. However, Lt. Angela Shephard at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station commended the residents who called the sheriff to report the solicitors.

“This is the type of thing that does sometimes end up in a burglary,” said Lt. Shepard. “We were able to cite them before they were doing any damage.”
Fake solicitors hawking faux magazine subscriptions were found targeting Montrose and La Crescenta during the holiday season, according to Glendale Police.
