Annual Arts and Crafts Festival

Every year, during the first week end in June, Montrose sponsors the annual Arts and Crafts Festival. I have attended this for many years now, and almost every year without fail, it's unbearably hot and the tarmac running through Montrose reflects the heat beautifully. People are sweltering, dripping and red faced from heat and there's not much shade for relief. I love the unique merchandise offered but had to leave early last year because my companion nearly suffered a heat stroke and thought would have to pay nearby Verdugo Hills ER a visit. So my question to the Montrose board of commerce or whoever runs this event is, "Why does it always have to be during the hottest part of the year?!!" Why not the first week end in April? Even May has a better chance of not being quite so consistently scorching. I'm sure that the vendors would have a better turn out and the participants could actually enjoy browsing. Just a thought:-)
