Great idea! All Foothill Blvd. buildings should be of the character of the new library. Let's put some pride into our commercial district.

A 50' height limit would be out-sized along Foothill and look ridiculous. Already 35' is tall enough to be the limit to keep the area from looking industrialized.

Yes. We have lived on Cecilville Ave in La Crescenta for 30 years . This street has no sidewalks and cars are parked on the street in some areas. Parents are walking on the street with their kids to school, with strollers and some children walk alone. It is completely unsafe and I pray every day that no one is hit.

Actually at night near the pool stairs and gym at CV the crosswalk is not lighted and I have seen many kids almost hit there. It is a shame that tragedy needs to happen before action is taken. Not that long ago a girl was hit on Pennsylvania and Altura - then they finally installed a signal. The city/county need to be PROACTIVE not REACTIVE!

This is one of the most dangerous intersections in La Crescenta for pedestrians crossing Foothill, particularly in the hour surrounding the start and closing of the CVHS school day. Every day I hold my breath and am amazed and grateful for another day granted with no serious injuries. Flashing lights at and above crosswalk levels to alert drivers to pedestrian crossings would be an amazing improvement here.

Yes, this intersection needs the lighted crosswalk. I have stopped many times in the morning and afternoon for kids crossing the street and have seen cars in the other lanes keep going.
-Shannon Fallis-Kane
Traffic studies have shown that crosswalks are hazardous, because pedestrians treat them like invisible protective shields that would stop cars dead. It is actually safer just to remove the crosswalk, because then pedestrians have to pay attention to traffic and watch where they are going.

Approx. 3 months ago, one male individual came to my door and rang the doorbell. I did not answer. I was able to observe him walk around to the side of our home which has a locked gate. He came back to the front and I hollered through the window, "What do you want?" He replied he was just checking to see if we needed any home repairs to which I replied "NO!" He left and met another man standing on the street and took off walking. I immediately called the C.V. Sheriff's Dept. A couple of weeks later a neighbor was burglarized. I cannot express emphatically enough how important it is to contact the CV Sheriff's Dept. or Glendale Police Department should you see anything even slightly out of the ordinary where solicitors are concerned or even suspicious vehichles sitting on your block to contact your local law enforcement agency immediately. Be Proactive!

Great pics! It was such FUN shopping! I bought Blood Orange Dipping Oil, a Margarita house dress from Laurie Jo, fun Cd's and more. Many people commented this was the BEST one yet and the vendors left very happy.
