Bill Switch
At 3 p.m. Thursday, July 28, a woman reportedly entered Cafe Hazelnut, 3051 Foothill Blvd., handed the employee working behind the counter a $10 bill and ordered an orange juice. The employee placed the bill on the counter and retrieved a bottle of juice, but the woman allegedly then asked for a fresh-squeezed juice, which the cafe did not have available. According to the incident report, the employee then handed the $10 bill back to the woman and turned away to put the bottled juice back.

Yelling ensued as the woman insisted that the employee had given her back a $10 bill despite her handing over a $20 bill. According the the report, she insisted that the employee was trying to steal from her and wanted $10. In an effort to prevent upsetting other customers, the employee opened the cash register and handed the woman a $10 bill. The suspect then left the cafe and got into a blue, 2008 4-door Toyota Yaris. The employee reportedly watched the alleged suspect drive to a nearby market, park, go into the market and then return a few minutes later before driving away.
Deputies contacted the market. An employee there told deputies that the alleged suspect had come in and asked for change for a $100 bill, specifically requesting $10 bills. When told that wasn't possible, she left the store.

Deputies were able to obtain the license plate number of the suspect's vehicle.
Grand Theft of Car Seats
A man reported to deputies that sometime between noon, Friday, July 29 and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, two third row seats were taken from his 2003 GMC Yukon parked in the 3000 block of Santa Carlotta Street. The vehicle had been left unlocked and the seats were secured to the SUV's floor panel. Nothing else was reported missing from the car. The seats are valued at $3,000.

An assault occured in the 2600 block of Sycamore Avenue at 5:22 a.m. Wednesday.
Glendale Police reported a drunk in public violation at 1:45 pm Wednesday in the 3700 block of Foothill Boulevard.
Glendale Police responded to a disturbing the peace call for a fight that occured in the 2900 block of Honolulu Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Luis Lopez, a 35-year-old construction worker, was arrested on a warrant for driving without a license at 6:25 p.m. Monday near Foothill Boulevard aand Pennsylvania Avenue.
Amanda Michelle Philips, 42, was arrested at 4:59 a.m. Tuesday near Foothill Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue for possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property.
Teodoso Huerta, 41, was arrested at 3711 Foothill Blvd. at 2:34 Wednesday on charges of being drunk in public.
