National Night Out is set for the evening of August 7, 2012. This is a community-driven event where neighbors meet neighbors to share concerns, strategies and ideas for safer communities. The Glendale Police Department partners with event hosts to coordinate and plan events. A neighborhood event can be as simple as a gathering on a lawn with refreshments, or as elaborate as a neighborhood potluck with raffle prizes.
Last year was our biggest, with a total of 44 events citywide and we would like to have even more in 2012! Organize with your neighbors to come together to take a stand against crime, drugs and disorder inGlendale neighborhoods.
Members of the Glendale City Council and City officials visit these events to hear concerns and ideas, and to get to know the community. If you are interested in hosting an event, please visit our event website atwww.glendalenno.com or call Sergeant John Gilkerson at (818) 548-4015.
