Rosemont Preserve Celebration

Here is a letter from John Howell, inviting locals to celebrate the Rosemont Preserve:

Dear Friends,

We've saved 8 acres of beautiful wilderness at the top of Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta, thanks to the hard work and generosity of many. The land will never be developed, will always be protected as wilderness for birds and wildlife, and will be available as a local resource.

Please join us on Saturday, June 30, to celebrate our success. Festivities start with volunteer habitat restoration at 8:30 a.m. and continue with docent-led tours at 10:15 a.m. All are welcome at either, though please RSVP for the restoration portion (simply reply to this email) because space is limited.

The event will culminate in a ceremony at 11:30 a.m., recognizing those who made the acquisition possible and offering a glimpse of what is to come. Light refreshments will be served.

We ask that all attendees park at Two Strike Park, below Harmony Place off Rosemont Avenue, and walk from there to the preserve.

Rosemont Preserve Celebration Schedule:

  • 10:15 a.m.: Docent-Led Tours (please wear sturdy shoes, long sleeves and long pants)
  • 11:30 a.m.: Celebration Ceremony

We hope to see you there.
