Fast Food Restaurant Has Grease Spilling Into Sewer

Glendale Fire Department and Public Works officials are trying to remove grease that spilled into sewer from a local fast food restaurant.

Spilled grease from fast food eatery Everest is allegedly prompting a sewer clean up.

Glendale Fire Department and Public Works crews arrived about 9:20 a.m. Thursday at Everest at 3826 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta, said Mike Urquizo of Glendale Public Works.

"It's our responsibility to stop it before it gets to the oceans," Urquizo said.

Crews are using a flusher to get out the grease, said Jim McCloskey of Glendale Public Works.

"In this case it's not sewage," McCloskey said.
