Fire Causes $50,000 Worth of Damage
A fire broke out at New York Deli Sandwiches early Tuesday morning.
Just after midnight on Tuesday, May 24, a fire broke out inside New York Deli Sandwiches at 3253 N. Verdugo Rd. in Glendale, which is just across the Montrose border, causing an estimated $50,000 in damage but no injuries.
Five Glendale Fire Department companies, one Los Angeles Fire Department company and one ambulance responded. After the fire was extinguished, investigators determined that the fire originated in the rear of the sandwich shop and that the cause was accidental.
A visit to the site shows extensive damage. The sky is clearly visible through several large holes in the roof. The GFD reported that the damage is estimated at $50,000.

Though New York Deli Sandwiches is located in a strip mall and directly borders two other stores, no other businesses were damaged.
There were no injuries or fatalities in connection with this incident.
