Water is Life Art Contest Winners Selected

Foothill kids from La Crescenta, La Canada Flintridge and Altadena were recognized for promoting stewardship of our water resources in the Water is Life art contest. 

The contest was open to all students, in grades K-12, attending a school located within the service area of a member water agency that Foothill Municipal Water District serves. The district received 32 art entries. Here are the winners:

First Place: Daniel Lee, Sophomore at Crescenta Valley High School

Second Place: Amelia Seropian, Third Grader at La Canada Elementary School

Third Place: Sophia Mastras, Second Grader at Paradise Canyon Elementary School

The "Water Is Life" Contest was a first for Foothill Municipal Water District, which provides imported water to Crescenta Valley Water District, La Canada Irrigation District, Las Flores Water Company, Lincoln Avenue Water Company, Mesa Crest Water Company, Rubio Canyon Land & Water Association, and Valley Water Company. Kinneloa Irrigation District, another retail agency, takes no water from Foothill.

The top six entries received further recognition through a special board meeting on June 18 where students received prizes, including gift certificates from fellow sponsor Los Gringos Locos Restaurant in La Canada Flintridge.
