YMCA Indian Guides to Host Rummage Sale

Proceeds will help pay for the Y's programs.

The Conejo YMCA, which serves Moorpark as well as Thousand Oaks, will have a rummage sale Saturday to benefit the Y's Strong Kids annual fundraising campaign.

The sale, to be hosted by members of the Conejo YMCA's Indian Guides/Princesses, will have furniture, television sets and other electronics, clothing and toys.

Funds raised through the Y's Strong Kids campaign enables individuals, families, seniors and children to be a part of YMCA programs and receive membership benefits even if experiencing financial hardship.

Jennifer Silveria, the Conejo Y's community program director, explained that the Y never turns anyone away from taking part in its programs because of an inability to pay.

"By shopping at the rummage sale, you're helping families in the community," Silveria said.
