Moorpark's 5 Things to Know Today: July 14

Head to a used book sale today or plan ahead for many exciting events around Moorpark.

1. The Moorpark Friends of the Library will hold a $3 per bag used-book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the parking lot of the . For $3, shoppers can buy a bag and fill it with as many books as possible. Proceeds will benefit the library.
2. on Saturday, July 21. Admission is $5 and the event will take place at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center. 
3. The nomination period is now closed. Voting will begin on July 23. Stay tuned and vote for your favorite businesses!
4. The Ventura County Fire Department has intermittent  till July 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in an area of brush in Happy Camp Canyon adjacent to Rustic Canyons Golf Course. 
5. It will be sunny with a high near 84 and a low around 56, according to the National Weather Service.
