Moorpark's 5 Things to Know Today: July 16

Get off the couch and head to the library for some gaming or start planning ahead for some exciting events next weekend.

  1. Get off the couch and meet your friends for some gaming! Teens and tweens are welcome to come and enjoy exciting Wii and board games and a little friendly competition at the from 2 to 6 p.m. 
  2. Looking ahead, the Ventura County Astronomical Society (VCAS) will lend its expertise and hold a  open to the public. The event will take place on Friday, July 20, at 8 p.m. (weather permitting) at the Charles Temple Observatory of .
  3.  on Saturday, July 21. Admission is $5 and the event will take place at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center. 
  4. The  nomination period is now closed. Voting will begin on July 23. Stay tuned and vote for your favorite businesses!
  5. There will be a patchy fog before 11 a.m. with a high near 75 and a low around 51, according to the National Weather Service.
