Moorpark's 5 Things to Know Today: July 31

Here's what's happening in and around Moorpark at-a-glance.

  1. Follow the yellow brick road to Oz in a rod-puppet production featuring puppeteer Elizabeth Luce at the Moorpark Civic Center today at 2 p.m. Bring the whole family!
  2. Have you hopped on the  yet? Take it to Zuma Beach on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until August 16 and save on parking and gas. Fares are $5 round-trip for adults and students, $2 for seniors (age 62+) and children under 5 are free.
  3. The  celebrates 100 years of service tomorow. Stop by for the Open House starting at 10 a.m., some fun activities, a trip down memory lane and special surprises.
  4. Tomorrow at noon is also the finale of the teen summer reading club. Head over to the Citrus Room of the Moorpark Civic Center for some pizza, book prizes and the announcement of the book cover design winner.
  5. It will be sunny with a high near 87 and a low around 59, according to the National Weather Service
