Video: Library Celebrates Children and Books in Engish and Spanish

The annual Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros celebration took place Wednesday evening.

As it does annually, the Moorpark City Library Wednesday evenening celebrated children, reading and culture with a Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros event.

The nationwide celebration, which came into being as an extension of Children's Day, a day to bring attention to the importance and well being of children, was created by author nad poet Pat Mora in 1996, who proposed linking the day with literacy and bilingualism.

Moorpark's Día celebration consisted of story telling and singing in English and Spanish. As well, making another guest appearance to the library was the mariachi and magic team of Rafael and Katia.
