Weekend Fun: March 2-4

FRIDAY

Country Joe McDonald: The front man to 60s folk-rock group Country Joe and the Fish, Country Joe McDonald, will perform at 8 p.m. at the Canyon Club, 28912 Roadside Drive, Agoura Hills. Tickets are $20.

SATURDAY

Celtic Spring: The America's Got Talent finalist Irish dance and music group will perform a benefit for the community Pregnancy Clinic at 7 p.m. at Moorpark Presbyterian Church, 13950 Peach Hill Road, Moorpark. Tickets are $20.

Cirque: Illusions of Grandeur: Dare to Dream: Cirque delivers awe-inspiring thrill of stage magic and illusion in this presentation combining aerialists, acrobats and fire dancers with talented variety performers. The show takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. Tickets are $49-$79.

Gem show: In honor of its golden anniversary, the 50th annual Ventura Gem Show will have a special gold exhibit along with its usual rocks, fossils, gems and jewelry exhibits, demonstrations, raffles and silent auction. There wil be activities for children as well. The show takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura. Admission is free, but the fairgrounds charges for parking.

Purple Haze: Ralph Woodson and company perform a tribute to Jimi Hendrix at 8 p.m. at the Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. Tickets are $20.
