Weekend Fun: Strawberry Fest, Food Trucks and More

Clean Up Comedy Improv Group in Newbury Park: Watch Ventura County's newest improv group perform at the Newbury Park First Christian Church, 801 Knollwood Drive.

The 90-minute family-friendly improv show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 available at the door or by email: info@cleanupcomedy.com.

29th California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard: Head to Strawbery Meadows of College Park, 3250 S. Rose Ave. for a weekend of live entertainment, a berry hunt, contests, booths and other strawberry-themed activities!

The festival is from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Save gas by parking at the Camarillo Premium Outlets and taking the free Strawberry Shuttle to the event. Trucks for the Troops in Simi Valley: Thirteen food trucks will participate in this fundraiser for American troops stationed abroad. Head to Simi Valley High School from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and check out Haunt Dawgz, No Tomatoes, Mambo Juice, Pita Pusher, Slammin Sliders and Ludo Truck, among the trucks that are participating.

Conejo Jazz & Wine Fest in Thousand Oaks: Featuring local restaurants, caterers and wineries, the event will take place at Conejo Creek Park North, 1379 East Janss Road from 1 to 4 p.m.

Local Author Fair in Thousand Oaks: Come to the Grant R. Brimhall Library at 1401 E. Janss Road and talk one-on-one with over a dozen local authors about their writing and publishing experiences, from 1 to 4 p.m. Their books will also be on sale.
