Longer days and warmer weather mean it’s a great time to get outside and see what’s happening around Mountain View. Throughout the season, local markets, festivals and community events offer plenty of opportunities to explore, connect and enjoy the best of spring.
Below are several happenings to check out this season. Before heading out, it’s always a good idea to confirm hours, weather plans and ticket details with event organizers.
1. Mountain View Farmers’ Market

This certified farmers market boasts more than 80 farmers and vendors on site. As a certified market, all of the produce comes directly from the farmers – buying items to sell is not allowed. Shoppers here are getting the freshest and healthiest food around, sometimes crops are picked hours before the market.
2. Music on Castro
When: Wednesdays, April - October, 5 - 6: 45 p.m.
Where: Downtown Castro Street, 200 block of Castro Street
Looking for a perfect midweek escape? Head downtown for live music and then grab a bite and visit local shops. Local and regional musicians will be performing at this fun community event.

3. Earth Day Festival
When: April 18, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: Civic Center Plaza, 500 Castro St.
Get your hands dirty and enjoy nature at this annual celebration. The event starts with a ceremonial tree planting and will include hands-on activities. There will be a rock climbing wall, interactive activities and you can take seed home to plant. Have a bike in need of repairs, bring it along to the bike repair cafe.

4. Concerts on the Plaza
When: Fridays, June - September, 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Where: Civic Center Plaza, 500 Castro St.
Enjoy this summer concert series right in the heart of downtown. Grab your friends or family and get ready to listen and dance to live local music. Visit downtown restaurants for a meal and make it a relaxing start to the weekend.

5. Hiking at Rancho San Antonio Preserve
When: Daily; Open a half hour before sunrise until a half hour after sunset
Where: 25000 Cristo Rey Dr., Los Altos; Various parking lots available at different locations
Take a short drive outside of Mountain View to Los Altos in Santa Clara County. Here hikers and bikers will find 25 miles of trail at the 2,180-acre open space preserve and its adjoining 293-acre county park. Pack some snacks or maybe a picnic and enjoy time outdoors. Visitors will find a variety of flowers, plants and wildlife.

6. Together in Pride
When: June 20, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: Civic Center Plaza, 500 Castro St.
The city of Mountain View will be hosting its second annual Pride event at Civic Center Plaza and Pioneer Park. There will be live performances, interactive experience and family-friendly fun with activities for all ages.
