Bomb Squad Update: All Clear Near Caltrain Station

Suspicious item found in Mountain View building along Hope Street was no threat.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- A bomb squad determined a suspicious package this morning at an abandoned building in Mountain View posed no danger, police said.

Police reported at 10:30 a.m. that the area around a building in the 200 block of Hope Street is safe.

The package was an old military device, according to police.

Officers first reported the package on Twitter at 9:04 a.m. Police evacuated businesses surrounding the 200 block of Hope Street, which is near the Mountain View Caltrain station, because of the package.
